One of the best places to visit in Lubbock is Buffalo Springs Lake, a lakeside park with a campground. You can take a leisurely walk in the park’s nature trails, laze around at the beach, or even have some fun boating, waterskiing, playing volleyball, and many more activities.
If you love hiking and biking, Palo Duro Canyon and Caprock Canyon are just a few hours from Lubbock. Love camping? Lubbock KOA has one of the favored camping spots just outside the city. 6. The city has the only international airport within 2 hours
You heard that right. This awesome city has the only international airport, Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport, located within 2 hours. Many people travel hundreds of miles to use this airport. Moving here would be a great convenience, especially if you travel often.
7. Don’t forget to bring your appetite along
Lubbock restaurants have something delicious for every palette. Most restaurants offer both local and mouth-watering exotic dishes at reasonable prices. Visit the Twisted Root Burger Co. for gourmet beef, turkey, and vegan burgers or the Italian Garden for pizza, pasta, and other traditional cuisines. If you want something local, take a look at Cast Iron Grill for Southern-style breakfast & lunch, The Shack BBQ, and other incredible eateries.

Despite the city’s large population, the estimated daily commute time is 16 minutes. The city continues to earn recognition as one of the major cities with the shortest commute. So don’t stress about beating traffic; it’s a smooth ride all the way.
